Ever Had A Lucinda House?

When I found this pin in the Maryland estate I started getting interested in researching these Lucinda pins and found a very interesting history:
"Our unique pin designs are Made in Maine. Worn and Talked About All Over the World ... company that grew out of the personal hardship of its founder Lucinda ... "

I had never encountered these neat house pins til this one. Nice details! Nice colors! Nice size!

Beautiful Details! Nice Design!

If you are looking for Kgold or Sterling Silver this pin is not for you, But if you are looking for possible early 1900s and most likely handmade,  this pin is nice. These were the "unofficial words" of a jewelry friend who looked at  it last week. My "unofficial words" are I liked its petiteness, primitive looking clasp, detailed petals  holders for each stone. He thought the stones might be foiled and didn't recommend cleaning it because of that. They seem clear and reflect the color of what is under them. Don't have any history on this pin. Sniff. Sniff. But it is looking for a new home to be loved and used!

Check it out here in my Etsy store if interested:

Like Pendant Necklaces?

This pretty necklace is from a Maryland estate. Korea marked clasp. Michael C. Fina sticker on the bottom of the box. Other than that I found no markings. Some darkening of the chain which had been in the sealed envelope on the back of the pendant backing in the box.

Downsizer, Looking to Sell Some Jewelry?

Downsizers, this book makes a great addition to the library of a Costume Jewelry Seller or Collector! I bought it years ago as a "seconds" and it is still in good shape: no markings, writing, stains or creases. There is edge/corner tear/wear on the hardback cover.
Of course the 2001 values updated don't help but the pics are great and in the back you will find interesting information on this type of jewelry's materials and history.
191 pages.Collector Books. 1986. Updated values 2001.

Fort McHenry. Wow! What a place! EVERY American should get there at least once! What a  HUGE FLAG flew  THERE when I was growing up! Found this Fort McHenry goldtone/coppertone adjustible ring in a jewelry drawer of a jewelry box of a Maryland estate. It sits at 5 1/2 size but is adjustible as shown in the pic. No history of its use or age.

Another Beau Sterling On the Market!

This Beau Sterling pin came from a Maryland estate. It definitely is not new and has been used and then stored for years without being used. It WILL need cleaning and shining by its next owner. It is a little over 2 inches from end to end. Looking for a new owner to enjoy and take it out on new adventures!

Do You Have a Beau Sterling Pin?

Out of a Maryland estate came this Beau Sterling pin. It is old and used and needs cleaning. I have included it for Beau collectors and because I like the modernistic flowing free form of the design. I do not know how it will look after cleaning. But it is a beauty in design. Click here for the pin:

Did You Ever Own Bergere Earrings?

Boy these take us back in time, Downsizers, to Downtown Baltimore on Howard Street when all the big stores had big buildings with lots of floors! And lots of windows decorated for the upcoming holidays and events. Hutzlers was my favorite! In fact I think one of my first jobs was gift wrapping there during Christmas holidays. Hechts, Hoschild Kohn...Stewarts...May Company...hmmm seems like there is one  more I am not remembering. But anyway what fun to hang out in their jewelry sections and enjoy the beauty of the pieces back then! Like maybe these were there. These earrings are not NEW shiny but they are signed and in pretty good shape for their age.
